    How to get there:

If you’re getting the bus, you need to get on a 142/42 towards didsbury (away from central manchester) it should take 10ish mintues if you’re coming from fallowfield. You will go through fallowfield, withington high street and then past some houses before you get to didsbury. Once on didsbury high street you will pass gourmet burger kitchen on your left or aldi on your right (push the bell on the bus) just after this is o’neills pub, which is blue and you need to get off the bus. Walk to the traffic lights, where there is a costa coffee on the corner. Turn left at these lights onto school lane. Walk along the road, past La tasca and over the bridge. The scout hall will be on your right, opposite beaver lane just after the bridge.

    laser quest tomorrow

    7 March, 2010 (20:46) | News | By: Dani

Tomorrow we are off to laser quest at Parrswood.

Meeting at 8:30 at parrswood complex, to start the first game at 9. Two games have been booked, and will cost £6 with student ID, or £11 without. You must have your student ID on you to get the discount.

I probably won’t be there, as I have an essay to write, so if you have any issues, email dave on david@mansouthnetwork.org.uk or email me tomorrow daytime, and I should be able to get back to you.

    To get there:

Take a 142 going away from the city centre to the end of the route. It stops at a complex where there is a cinema and bowling alley. The laser quest is in the bowling alley. Please aim to get there for 8:30, as the game will start at 9.

Also, Ben has fixed the forums, so everyone should be able to sign up now. The address is www.mansouthnetwork.org.uk

Latest discussions on there include swimming gala feedback and national network gathering planning.

    swimming gala – 5th march 2010

    3 March, 2010 (14:07) | News, Uncategorized | By: Dani

the swimming gala is rapidly approachig, so here is some more information for you.

Its going to be this saturday, 5th march at stretford leisure centre.

If you need a lift, we’re meeting in sainsbury’s fallowfield car park at 5:20, to leave at 5:30. Hannah and Rach are driving, and we have enough space for everyone who has definately confirmed they are coming. If you haven’t confirmed, just put your name down on the forum and we’ll make sure there is a space for you.

For the gala please wear either your blue msn tshirt, or a blue tshirt/polo shirt. It will be warm on poolside so shorts are also advisable. Please bring clean trainers/flip flops to wear on the poolside, or just go barefoot. We should be providing water for all helpers, but you may also want to bring your own drink if you want anything other than water.

There will also be a network/leaders race at the end of the night, so if you want to compete you need to bring swimming stuff. Sign up for this will be on the night.

The gala is planned to finish at about 9ish, where we will be heading back to fallowfield, probably to a pub to get some food.

If you have any questions, either email me or post on the forums. www.mansouthnetwork.org.uk/forum

Information about monday will be sent in another email.

    monday 1st march

    24 February, 2010 (10:59) | News | By: Dani

Next week is going to be a bit of a chill out/sorting stuff out week.

We will be meeting at the victoria in withington at 8pm.

    Things to discuss:

    From james (the secretary):

    • CRB forms. If you haven’t filled one in for the scout association, you will need to fill one in. If you have had one done within the last year or so in another district, you can now just let us know that number. This also applies to AA forms. If you don’t know if you have a CRB form, let me/James know and we will find out for you. We can also let you know what you need to bring if you need to fill one in.
    • Membership forms. If you haven’t filled in an MSN membership form you will need to do so. I think this just applies to David and Francis.

    General stuff:

    • Swimming gala. Last minute sorting out of job roles/times/travel arrangements/everything
In case you didn’t know, we are running a swimming gala for manchester south district on 6th March. If you haven’t already volunteered and would like to do so, just let us know on monday or post on the forums.
    • County camp. This may or may not be going ahead, but hopefully we should know by the time monday comes around, and we can discuss it then.
    • Future camps. Discussions of who would like to go to gathering/pubscouts/MAD and other camps over the summer. I’ll find info and post onto the forums.

    Forum and website address: www.mansouthnetwork.org.uk

    Think thats all for now.
