    G’Day

Its time for the Manchester South Network Annual General Meeting, and second birthday party!

Everyone should have received an email invite, but just to remind you, its on 10th May, at 2nd/88th didsbury at 8pm, for 8:15pm start.

There is still time to stand for exec positions if you haven’t already nominated yourself. If you have any questions, you will need to email James as I’m off visiting Fran in Vienna this weekend, so will have limited email access.

There will be drinks and nibbles provided if you need further incentive to come along.

After the meeting, I will be confirming who wants to come to MAD at the AGM, as I want to get the network form in before exams get in the way. Network will be sending a cheque, so you will just have to pay network. If you miss the deadline, you will have to book yourself on. Any outstanding money for travel to gathering would also be appreciated. Information for both these things can be found on the forums.

    See you monday

    How to get there:
If you’re getting the bus, you need to get on a 142/42 towards didsbury (away from central manchester) it should take 10ish mintues if you’re coming from Fallowfield. You will go through fallowfield, withington high street and then past some houses before you get to didsbury. Once on didsbury high street you will pass gourmet burger kitchen on your left or aldi on your right (push the bell on the bus) just after this is o’neills pub, which is blue and you need to get off the bus. Walk to the traffic lights, where there is a costa coffee on the corner. Turn left at these lights onto school lane. Walk along the road, past La tasca and over the bridge. The scout hall will be on your right, opposite beaver lane just after the bridge.

    may day bank holiday

    28 April, 2010 (19:48) | News | By: Dani

    G’Day

this monday (3rd may) is a bank holiday, so network are going to linnet clough for archery!

Archery is booked from 3-5, so we will be meeting at manchester piccadilly station, under the big timetabley sign thing at 13:45, to get the 14:03 train to marple. The train journey is about 20 mins, and then it is a 30 minute walk to the campsite. Will is taking the archery, so will probs also be at the station.
If you’re running late/get lost/have any issues, I’m going to be back in essex, so I have delegated all co-ordination of getting there to Ben.

Coming home the trains leave marple about every half an hour. The train, with a YP railcard should cost about £3 for an off peak day return (don’t blame me if this is wrong, I just got it from thetrainline)

Upon arrival back in manchester, there will probs be plans for dinner/meeting up for drinks in the evening, which will be confirmed on the day, so if you can’t make it to archery, you can just join network later.

Hopefully, you should all have received an email from James, inviting you to the manchester south network AGM and 2nd birthday party. Its going to be on the 10th May and is being held at 2nd/88th didsbury (instructions on how to get there are on the forum) at 8pm for 8:15 start. If you want to stand for a position on the exec, the new job descriptions are now up on the forum.

Also, for those who went to gathering, please bring also a cheque for the money owed for petrol. Then david can give the drivers cheques for the money owed to them.

    Happy May day bank holiday,

sorry about the late notice, people were in the lake district and then I’ve only just got back into manchester.

Here are the details for tomorrow. It is going to be at 89th withington at 8pm. The plan is to do our best to promote Manchester South Network through the medium of video advertising! Plan is to create a few short films which can be used for publicity. Tom will also be taking photos for silhouettes if you want one.

    G’Day

I hope those that went to Gathering have now recovered, and got through the mountains of washing and tent drying.

Network next week is going to be a picnic (weather permitting) and is being organised by Hannah. For more information, check out the forums.

The week after (monday 19th april) is going to be a TV advert,, but I have no idea who is meant to be organising it, and I’m a little bit lacking on time for the few weeks when we get back. So if you want to organise it, get in touch.

The week after we’re meant to be going to the velodrome, but this may not happen on the set date due to the velodrome not offering the sessions when we want it, as usual, more information on the forum.

    AGM

The AGM, and MSN’s second birthday party and prizegiving date is set for the 10th may, so I know its quite in advance, but is easy to forget about when exams and coursework start getting in the way.

Would you like to shape network in the coming year? We need people to stand for the exec, with all the positions potentially up for grabs. Thejob roles are: progammes manager, secretary, treasurer, quartermaster, IT sec. The definitions of what each job includes can be found on the forums.

If you wish to stand for a position, you will either need to prepare a short speech (just a few lines) on why you think you would be good for the role to be read out on the night, or if you can’t make it, email your reasons to us before the AGM to be read out in your absence.

If you have any issues with this, or more questions on what each job entails, either email the exec on exec AT mansouthnetwork.org.uk or email the specific person directly. private messages can also be sent on the forum.

Think thats all for now, and good luck to the boys doing their QSA practise hike next week
